FORGED CARBON FIBER INFO

Forged carbon fiber is comprised of many short, randomly oriented carbon fiber strands that are fused and hardened using resin to create finished parts. It can have many different looks depending on the fiber size and production methods used. While not as strong and light as long-strand woven reinforcement, forged carbon fiber is useful in complex molding applications where standard fabric would require unsightly seaming and also provides a beautiful, exotic look.

ForgeTEX® Forged Carbon Fiber Fabric streamlines the process for achieving a stunning forged carbon fiber surface finish.

This unique, non-woven material can be used to quickly and easily apply an even layer of precision cut carbon fiber in a variety of applications such as:

  • Cosmetic layer in a mold layup, can then be backed with structural woven carbon fiber.
  • Manufacture of flat panels, single or double sided.
  • Skinning / wrapping.
  • Complex shapes - material can be cut with relative precision and pieced together as needed, joints blend seamlessly into the pattern.
