ForgeTEX® Plain Weave forged carbon fiber fabric provides an even layer of precision cut 1/2″ carbon fiber fused to a lightweight plain weave carbon fiber backing. Forged carbon fiber bonded portion of the roll is approximately 35 inches (88.9cm) wide usable area plus a selvage edge of 1.5 inches on each side along the length. Select the number of linear yards you need to receive a continuous roll of that length up to 25 yards/full spool. Orders larger than 25 linear yards will ship as multiple rolls (e.g. qty. 40 ships as 25 yd. roll + 15 yd. roll). Photos of cured sheet shown for reference only

The easiest way to cut ForgeTEX® is with a sharp rotary cutter. ForgeTEX® does not stretch, but it can be easily pieced together for complex or large parts with the joints blending seamlessly into the pattern. ForgeTEX® should be handled minimally and gently during the production process to avoid excessive loss of carbon fiber pieces.

ForgeTEX® is a dry carbon fiber fabric, not a pre-preg, so you will need to apply resin to create finished parts. We generally recommend a clear/cosmetic grade, low viscosity epoxy resin. Resin may be applied by hand to the back of the sheet or by vacuum infusion. Brushing resin onto the front surface is not recommended as this will dislodge the chopped pieces and damage the pattern.

Shipping
ForgeTEX^® forged carbon fiber fabric ships carefully protected between sheets of clear plastic and spooled onto a rigid core. A small percentage of carbon fiber pieces will remain adhered to the clear film when it is removed. This is normal and will not affect the final result.

The estimated processing time for in stock items is 1-3 weeks. For quantities greater than 25 yards or backorder items please contact us for the current estimated processing time. Once shipped the transit time will vary depending on your location and the selected carrier/service type.

Orders shipping to locations outside USA may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and/or fees imposed by the destination country. These charges are calculated at the country of destination and must be paid by the buyer before the item can be received. Please review your local import fee guidelines before purchase as we are unable to calculate which of these fees, if any, may be applied.
